CIMB COVID-19 CARE PACKAGE

We're Still Here For You.

As the current pandemic escalates, we understand the uncertainty and worry that you may be facing right now. Hence, we've made changes to our COVID-19 CIMB Care Package to ensure that you get the best financial assistance during this trying period.

Our Care Package Schemes

CIMB Property Loans – Both Singapore & Overseas!

For existing Property Loans customers, you may choose to defer repayment of your principal or both principal and interest till 31 Dec 20201. This applies to all property loans including both Singapore (HDB, Private and Commercial owned by individuals) and Overseas (Australia, London and Malaysia) loans.

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • For customers with mortgage repayments that are not more than 90 days past due as at 6 Apr 2020.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Eligible customers must opt-in, in order for application to be processed.
  • Where there is deferment of principal and interest payments, interest will accrue on the deferred principal amount.
  • Customers may extend tenure of the mortgage period up to the corresponding deferment period subject to Bank's approval.
  • After the deferment period, the loan amount together with the interest accrued on the deferred principal amount will be fully amortised over the remaining loan tenure.
  • The deferment will not be reflected as a restructured loan in borrowers' Credit Bureau reports.

CIMB Renovation & Education Financing

For existing CIMB Renovation-i, Renovation & Education Financing customers, you can choose to defer repayment/payment of your principal or both principal and interest/profit till 31 Dec 20202.

CIMB Credit Cards

For existing CIMB Credit Cardmembers, you can choose to spread your card outstanding balance to a relief loan of up to 5 years, if you apply between 6 Apr to 31 Dec 2020, at an interest rate of 4.25% p.a.3 (EIR: up to 7.96% p.a.).

 

ELIGIBILITY

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Customers with income loss of at least 25% after 1 Feb 2020 (proof of income required).
  • Account less than 90 days past due at date of application.
  • Customer must not be on any existing debt repayment or restructuring programmes with the Bank i.e. Debt Repayment Plan (DRP), Debt Management Programme (DMP), Debt Consolidation Plan (DCP) and Repayment Assistance Scheme (RAS).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Eligible customers must opt-in, in order for application to be processed.
  • Customers have the option to convert their outstanding unsecured debt from their CIMB Credit Card and other revolving credit lines into a relief loan with a tenure of up to 5 years.
  • There will be no early repayment penalty.
  • Borrowers' credit facilities with the bank will be suspended until full repayment of the relief loan.
  • For uplift of the suspension, customers will need to submit new documents for fresh underwriting.
  • The relief loan will not be reflected as a restructured loan in borrowers' Credit Bureau reports.

Salaried employees / Commission-earner

- Latest CPF statement with minimum 12 months’ contribution; or,
- Employer’s letter and/or latest month’s payslip (and any prior month payslip indicating income reduction from 1 Feb 2020)

Self Employed Latest 3 consecutive months of bank statements (please include additional months of bank statements indicating decline in business cash flow from 1 Feb 2020, where necessary)

CIMB COVID-19 Bereavement Support Programme

The CIMB COVID-19 Bereavement Support Programme for Individual Customers aims to grant financial support to our valued customers, or their immediate family member, in the unfortunate event of bereavement from COVID-194

Under the Programme, a number of financial support measures may be provided, including:

 

• Cash contribution of SGD 5,000 to defray funeral expenses

• Cash contribution of SGD 500 to pay for outstanding bills incurred by the deceased

• A waiver of outstanding fees and charges owed to CIMB by the deceased customer

• Write-off of debts on selected CIMB products of the deceased customer, subject to a cap
 

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

The Programme is open to individuals who meet the criteria below: -

  • a) An immediate family member# (“Eligible Immediate Family Member”) of an Eligible Customer^ who has passed on in Singapore due to COVID-19 on or before 31 December 2020 (“Deceased Customer”); or
  • b) An Eligible Customer^ whose immediate family member# has passed on in Singapore due to COVID-19 on or before 31 December 2020 (“Deceased Immediate Family Member”).
     

Note:
 

#An immediate family member means the spouse, children or parents of the deceased, whose relationship can be proven via marriage certificate or birth certificate. For the avoidance of doubt, the immediate family member may or may not necessarily be a CIMB’s customer.
 

^An Eligible Customer refers to an existing customer of CIMB as at 6 April 2020 till 31 Dec 2020 with any of the following with CIMB:

  • current account/savings account(s) with positive balance and the account(s) is not dormant; or
  • credit card(s) with usage in the last six (6) months; or
  • loan(s)/financing facility(ies);

And none of the Eligible Customer’s account(s) or facility(ies) with CIMB are in arrears of more than 90 days at the point of application for the Programme.
 

HOW TO APPLY

The Eligible Immediate Family Member/Eligible Customer can inform us and submit the following supporting documents via our dedicated email address at sgb.cimbcare@cimb.com

3. Supporting Documents, as follows:
 

•Death certificate of the Deceased Customer/Deceased Immediate Family Member

•Hospital treatment report or other reports, confirming that the Deceased Customer/Deceased Immediate Family was a COVID-19 patient or that his/her cause of death was COVID-19

•Eligible Immediate Family Member/Eligible Customer’s NRIC or passport

•Proof of relationship between the Deceased Customer/Deceased Immediate Family Member and Eligible Immediate Family Member/Eligible Customer, i.e. copy of a marriage certificate or birth certificate only

 

We will reply and confirm receipt of your email within 3 working days.
