How To Apply

Step 1 - Apply Now 

 

Download and fill up the CIMB Hajj Savings-i Application form

 

Step 1a - If you are using IOS or Android

1) Click on “Download Form”

2) When the form is opened, click on the “Share” icon at the bottom of the page (Safari browser).

3) Scroll down and click on “Save to Files”

4) Open your “Files” application to retrieve the PDF copy of the form. You will be able to edit the fields on the form.

2) When the “Open With” pop-up appears, choose your default PDF reader e.g. Adobe Acrobat.

3) Go to your “Files” folder to retrieve the PDF copy of the form. You will be able to edit the fields on the form.

Step 2 - Email Application 

Email the application form and the following supporting documents to CIMB.

 

(i) Clear copy of NRIC front and back
(ii) Latest address proof showing residential address as per your NRIC (i.e Telco bill, Singapore Power bill, latest bank statement)

Step 3 - Complete your Account Opening

 

Please FAST in the initial deposit of S$1,000 from your single name personal account with another bank in Singapore1 or from your own CIMB Malaysia Account.

 

A video call might be conducted for the purpose of account verification.

 

Your account will be opened within 7 business days of receipt of initial deposits and/or documents required, if no further review or follow up is required, subject to the Bank’s approval1.

Step 4 - Access Your Account

 

Access your account by downloading our "CIMB Clicks Singapore" Mobile App to set up your Digital Token. Find out more here.

For single account:

  1. Log in to your other bank’s online banking service and add your new CIMB account as a favourite payee.
  2. Transfer funds via FAST from your individual account to your CIMB account.

 

For joint account:

  1. Each applicant to log into their respective other bank’s online banking service and add the new CIMB account as a favourite payee.
  2. Transfer funds via FAST from each individual’s account to the CIMB account.

Documents Required

For Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Resident only:

1. Copy of NRIC

2. Proof of residential address if the residential address in the application differs from the ID document (e.g. any latest telephone bill, bank statement or letter issued by the government)

Terms & Conditions

 

*Month-end incremental deposit required to earn the higher profit rate i.e. 2.00% p.a. for the relevant month which will be given to customer on whole balance if month-end target balance is met and the entire account balance has a minimum of S$100. If the month end target balance or minimum account balance is not met, the lower profit rate i.e. 1.00% p.a. is accorded for that month. The profit is accrued daily but paid monthly.

 

1CIMB retains the discretion, without the obligation to provide any reason, to request a discretionary first-party fund-in (of an amount determined at its absolute discretion) for all applications for current/savings account. Initial deposit will be refunded to the originating account in the event deposit application is unsuccessful. Please expect a longer turnaround time in receiving the refund of the initial deposit if initial deposit was not sent using the accepted methods as stated above. If the originating account is not under the CIMB deposit applicant’s name, any request to refund the initial deposit to the applicant’s personal account requires a documentary proof i.e. bank statement. All incidental charges and foreign exchange arising from the refund will be borne by the customer. An indemnity form may be required to be completed by the applicant before any refund can be processed.

 

 

Important Notes

Deposit Insurance Scheme

Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation for up to S$100,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law. Foreign currency deposits, dual currency investments, structured deposits and other investment products are not insured.

What must I do after receiving my CIMB Hajj Savings-i account number?

New-to-Bank Customers Existing Bank Customers

You are required to complete your CIMB Hajj Savings-i account opening after receiving your new account number. You can do so by transferring a minimum initial deposit of S$1,000 via FAST (Fast and Secure Transfers) from your account with another bank or depositing a personal cheque in your name or cash (at the branch) into your CIMB Hajj Savings-i account.

 

If via CIMB Clicks:

- For Individual Account Holder: do a funds transfer via FAST from your personal account (i.e. the account must bear your name only) with another bank in Singapore.
 

- For Joint Account Holders: do a funds transfer via FAST from each of the respective applicant’s personal account (i.e. the respective account must bear the individual name only) with another bank in Singapore.

 

A video call might be conducted for the purpose of account verification.

 

Please note that your CIMB Hajj Savings-i account cannot be opened if the minimum initial deposit is funded by a 3rd-party account that does not bear the name of the individual account holder or the respective name of the joint account holders.

You can complete your CIMB Hajj Savings-i account opening by transferring the initial deposit of S$1,000 from your CIMB Bank Singapore Savings and/or Current Account using CIMB Clicks.

 

Else, you may deposit a personal cheque in your name or cash (at the branch) into your CIMB Hajj Savings-i account.

  • Transfer from other banks' accounts via Automated Standing Instruction (ASI). To avoid any failed deduction and charges, please ensure that there are sufficient funds in the debiting account at all times. 

 

What should I consider when applying for CIMB Hajj Savings-i account?

As CIMB Hajj Savings-i is designed to inculcate a savings habit to save up for Hajj pilgrimage, do consider the following factors before applying for this savings account:

  • Shariah-compliant
  • There is no ATM card given.
  • Withdrawal charges are imposed if the withdrawal purpose is not for Hajj. For more information, please refer to the Complete List of Fees and Charges
  • CIMB Clicks Internet Banking is only limited for the purpose of viewing the CIMB Hajj Savings-i account balance and withdrawal is not allowed via Clicks. Withdrawal is only allowed over the branch counter.
  • To access CIMB Hajj Savings-i account information, having a CIMB Clicks Internet banking account is necessary.
  • CIMB Hajj Savings-i is a savings account and does not offer cheque books.
  • Given the nature of this account, there will also be neither passbook nor paper statements issued to customers. Customers can access their CIMB Hajj Savings-i account details conveniently via CIMB Clicks. A PDF electronic statement of the account can also be downloaded from CIMB Clicks.
