Say goodbye to SMS-OTPs for your online card transactions

 

From 26 June 2026, SMS One-time passwords (OTPs) will be replaced with in-app approval through the CIMB Mobile App. Do ensure your Digital Token is activated to start in-app approvals.

 

Secure your online card transactions with convenience and confidence.

 

Here is how you authenticate in-app.

1. Initiate transaction authentication request.

2. Tap on notification to launch CIMB Mobile App.

3. Verify and tap on “Approve” to confirm your transaction.

Ensure that you are approving the correct transaction based on the merchant’s name, transaction currency and amount, and account.

4. Upon clicking “Approve”, acknowledgement page displays the user approved transaction.

5. Return to the merchant’s app or website and transaction is completed.

If you did not receive the notification, launch your CIMB Mobile App and click on the digital token on the bottom navigation before login. You will be routed to Step 2 above.

 

Digital Token not set up yet? Follow these steps

Set up your Digital Token to enable approving your online transactions on the CIMB Mobile App.

  1. Start the Digital Token setup from your CIMB Mobile App
  2. Tap on the digital token icon on the bottom navigation before login
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions and perform a simple one-time setup of digital token with SMS OTP
  4. Choose your personalized 6-digit Digital Token PIN
