Singapore – A consortium of seven lenders comprising CIMB, Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered and UOB has successfully arranged an expanded multi-currency financing for DayOne to support the continued development of its data centre platform in Johor, Malaysia.
The financing consists of an additional USD2.4 billion offshore term loan facility and RM5.5 billion Murabahah facility, totalling RM15 billion. Together with the RM15 billion multi-currency financing secured in 2025, the financing platform now totals RM30 billion, reinforcing DayOne’s commitment to expanding hyperscale data centre capacity in Johor.
As demand for cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI) and digital services continues to accelerate, the development of scalable and resilient digital infrastructure will play a critical role in strengthening regional connectivity and supporting economic growth. The additional financing will fund the next phase of capacity development across the DayOne platform, helping to meet this growing demand and support the continued development of digital infrastructure in the region.
The facility was arranged by a consortium of Mandated Lead Arrangers, Bookrunners and Joint Coordinators comprising CIMB, Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered and UOB, reflecting strong financing confidence in the development of digital infrastructure in Malaysia and the broader region.
The transaction also reinforces Malaysia’s position as a leading regional digital infrastructure hub. Johor has attracted significant investment in data centre development, supported by its strong connectivity, robust infrastructure, access to skilled talent and proximity to regional markets. This will contribute to the development of a resilient digital economy and strengthens Southeast Asia’s role as a key destination for technology investment and innovation.
Since its establishment in 2022, DayOne has rapidly expanded its footprint across Asia and Europe, with a presence in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Hong Kong SAR, Finland and Spain.
